Queer Woke: LGBTQ Denver
The Center is thrilled to welcome Phil Nash as he showcases his new book, LGBTQ Denver. Learn firsthand about Denver’s queer past and how the city evolved from its pre-1970s history of rebuking gay people to its current status as a magnet for LGBTQ+ residents. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask Phil questions and purchase the book.
Phil Nash has called Denver home since 1976. He was a founding member and the first director of the Gay Community Center of Colorado, known today as The Center on Colfax. When AIDS reached Colorado in the early 1980s, he helped found and chaired the Colorado AIDS Project.
