Transgender Day of Remembrance

Please join The Transgender Center of the Rockies and The Center on Colfax in observing Transgender Day of Remembrance with a heartfelt community event on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. We will honor those who have lost their lives this year with music, poetry, affirmations, and speaking their names aloud during a candlelit ceremony.

Event Information

Date: Wednesday, November 20, 2024

Time: Doors open at 6:00 PM. Ceremony runs 7:00 - 9:00 PM.

Getting to the Event

If you plan on driving, we recommend carpooling whenever possible!

Public transit can also get you fairly close to the Tivoli Turnhalle - the bus stop at 9th St. and Auraria Pwky is about a 5 minute walk away.

Parking

The Tivoli Garage is located across the street from the Tivoli Student Union. Daily rates are $8 until 5:00 PM and $25 after 5:00 PM.

There is also metered street parking that can accommodate up to 4 hours at a time, at a rate of $2 per hour.

Venue and Facilities

The Turnhalle is located inside the Tivoli Student Union on the second floor, room 250. The closest outside entrance has an ADA accessible ramp. The building has elevators that provide access to the Turnhalle.

Bathrooms are located just outside the Turnhalle. There is one-single stall ADA accessible bathroom, and two multi-stall bathrooms that will be gender neutral for the event.

Inside the Turnhalle, there will be plenty of seating, both audience-style and at tables.

All pathways will be wide enough for wheelchairs and mobility device access.

Other Considerations

We will be providing ASL interpretation.

Masks will be available, but not required.

Light refreshments and beverages will be provided, with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options available.

We will be providing a blocked off sensory processing space staffed with a Transgender Center of the Rockies therapist. The space will be in the balcony area of the venue, which is accessible by elevator.
