Howdy, hello! I am grateful you are here. My name is Sharon, and I am a queer human and licensed therapist in Denver, Colorado. I provide gender- and LGBTQ+ -affirming therapy to adults and teens in Denver metro and across Colorado. I also provide virtual therapy in Oregon and Vermont. My other offerings include therapy for parents of queer and trans children and adults. I help parents in navigating their own journey as new or existing members of the queer community.

A big passion for me is working with queer and trans communities. Supporting queer and trans folks in finding their own inner source of authenticity and power is a passion and honor. I offer a range of experience working with lgbtq+/queer as well as trans- and non-binary folks across the lifespan.

We will focus on helping you to cultivate the firm, rich ground you need to grow and thrive. Using therapeutic approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), together, we will help you to learn more about what makes meaningful life for you, and help you to reconnect to joy in the midst of all of the chaos. We will help you to cultivate a deeper understanding of yourself. With this understanding, we will help you find the skills and resources you need to feel empowered and confident even in moments of high anxiety and stress. Be it anxiety, depression, life transitions, finding direction in life, identity exploration, or substance use, our work together will help you to rediscover inner sources of stability and joy.

Maybe you are ready for change. Maybe you are uncertain of where to go next. I hear that. Together, we'll talk about how you create opportunities for joy among the chaos of this life. We will talk about how you try out and find new ways to approach your life. Yes, growth and change can be scary, and hard work. You are worth the hard work of finding meaning and joy during difficult times (let’s face it, you’re likely working hard already to manage everything).

Visit my website (rootedacorncounseling.com) to learn more about me, my approach and to schedule a free intro phone or virtual call. Finding a therapist, especially a queer-affirming therapist, can be overwhelming. I offer a free consultation to help you to get a sense of how I work and to begin to see if I am a good fit for you. Choosing to change is scary, and worth it. You’re not in this alone.
