Beyond Bodies: A Brief History of Transgender Medicine and Youth
This lecture will discuss the history of transgender youth in medicine based upon the work of Jules Gill-Peterson's book Histories of the Transgender Child. We will delve into the history of medicine for transgender people from the 19th to 20th century and frame a critical question: Where were the voices of trans youth for their own medical care in the past and where are they today?
