Kim Salvaggio (she/her) is a community-centered leader with over two decades of experience advancing equity, access, and inclusion across media and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, she served as the Chief Community Equity and Access Officer at Rocky Mountain Public Media, where she led transformative initiatives aimed at building trust between institutions and historically underrepresented communities.
During her time at Rocky Mountain Public Media, Kim spearheaded Above the Noise, a statewide civility and listening initiative designed to bridge the gap between Colorado residents and local newsrooms. Under her leadership, the project created long-term, trust-based models for dialogue that helped reshape how public media responds to the needs and concerns of the communities it serves.
Kim is also a certified mediator and skilled facilitator, known for her ability to hold space for difficult conversations and foster shared understanding in polarized environments. Her work consistently centers the voices of those most impacted by systemic inequities, especially LGBTQIA+ communities and Trans Youth.
Deeply committed to community engagement and social change, Kim continues to collaborate with local leaders and organizations on projects that prioritize relational trust, cultural responsiveness, and inclusive storytelling. She lives in Erie, Colorado, with her wife Alex, their four children, and a lively household of beloved pets.

During her time at Rocky Mountain Public Media, Kim worked under the leadership of Amanda Mountain, president and CEO of Rocky Mountain PBS, who shared: “Kim is a visionary leader who is committed to and capable of making the world a better place through her direct efforts,” said Mountain. “Especially right now as LGBTQ+ communities are under threat of having hard-fought rights reduced or removed, Kim's strong and collaborative leadership style can bring people together to protect the most vulnerable among us.”
