In 2021, the Transgender Programs made over 3,500 contacts through the program’s support groups, resource referrals, cultural competency training, community events, and video streams. We continued to provide peer-led support groups, shifting to a mix of in-person and online support groups as we began moving back to in-person programming. Training continued through 2021 with our participation in panels and trainings for organizations such as Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP, Colorado Access Provider Resource Group, Jacobs Engineering, and SCFD. The program provided knowledge and expertise to organizations across the state, such as Colorado AIDS Project, Colorado Medicaid, Denver Mayor’s LGBTQ Commission, KUNC, Metropolitan State University of Denver, Rightway Healthcare, and UCHealth Integrated Transgender Program. We coordinated with the Denver Element and Transgender Center of the Rockies to provide guidance and expertise for an online Transgender Day of Visibility. We enhanced our community engagement by putting on the Queer Author Expo and working with The Denver Economic Development Department and Career Catalyst. We also worked with our Center historian on a video series that discussed Queer Stories from the African Diaspora and led a panel discussion on Janet Mock’s book, "Surpassing Certainty". We renewed our grant from the Phillips Family Foundation and received a new grant from Caring4Denver to update our peer support program over the next three years.
