This year four participants of The Center’s young adult program, Saga, embarked on an incredible journey to the Creating Change Conference in New Orleans.

The trip was full of unforgettable moments, including meeting the iconic trans activist Miss Major. It was a dream come true for Saga members to be able to soak in the wisdom of a true trailblazer for our community.

“This experience wasn’t just about education,” said Young Adult Manager, Viet Nguyen (she/they). “It was a celebration of identity, a chance to refine our activism, and an opportunity to amplify our voices for change.”

From workshops to panels, every moment was a step forward in Saga members’ journeys to becoming empowered leaders in the LGBTQ+ community.

In between the wide array of educational opportunities at the conference, Saga members attended the Agents of Change Ball.

“Dressed to the nines, our Saga members stole the show at the ball, proving that activism and style go hand in hand,” said Viet. “Who says you can’t be fierce and fabulous while changing the world?”

Saga members were so grateful for the opportunity to attend such an inspiring gathering of LGBTQ+ leaders from around the nation.

“Here’s to the memories made, the lessons learned, and the promise of a future where our voices continue to resonate louder than ever,” said Viet.
