Karis Community is a beautiful, cooperative house based in the Congress Park neighborhood of Denver for individuals living with mental illness. The house is intended for people who:
- have a persistent mental health diagnosis that's impacted their life
- have established care with a therapist and a medication management provider (or are willing to establish care before moving in)
- would benefit from living and learning from others
- can take medications on their own
- can perform their own activities of daily living
- do not need an accessible home
- are willing to receive a Covid vaccine and annual flu vaccine
Rent is about $655 a month (+$200 deposit to move in) and residents can stay for up to two years. Some residents "graduate" to Karis' sister house, the Steppingstone Cottage, which is just a few blocks away. Residents may stay an additional two years at the Cottage.
The house is diverse, welcoming and looking to expand its impact and reach into new communities.
