Hi, I'm Gena (they, them), a Licensed Counselor Candidate with a deep commitment to supporting individuals through life’s challenges and helping them build a path toward personal fulfillment. I take a full look at your life in my approach to therapy, considering how society, work, and your social life can impact their ability to find happiness, voice, and meaning.

I have a strong interest in supporting individuals in the LGBTQ+ community and those dealing with mood disorders, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and neurodiversity. I also enjoy working with people who are simply seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their life’s direction who may not know why they are seeking counseling but feel like they could use a space to process their world. With a background as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, I am especially passionate about working with those who have experienced trauma and helping them reclaim their sense of agency and peace.

My approach is compassionate and client-centered, with an emphasis on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your emotions, develop coping strategies, and work towards the healing and growth that you deserve. Together, we can navigate the obstacles you face and move toward a more authentic life where YOU get to determine and work towards what is meaningful and significant!

I offer in person and online therapy appointments. I am in network with most major insurance companies and some medicaid plans.

For those who are under or uninsured, I am happy to offer a sliding scale based on household size and income.

To get started on your path to healing, fill out a new client application and write Gena McLaughlin as your requested therapist.

Many clients hesitate to use their insurance because of high deductibles or copays. However, our contracted rates with insurance companies are always lower than our out of pocket rate. This means you'll save money even if you haven't met your deductible yet.

Our normal fee for those who do not have insurance is $150 per clinical hour (53 - 55 minutes). We accept credit card, debit card, and health savings accounts. We do not accept checks or cash.

I accept Medicaid, Cigna, Anthem BCBS, United, and Kaiser
