Trauma isn’t just a memory of something painful—it’s an experience that leaves deep imprints on how you think, feel, and connect. It can affect your body, your relationships, and your capacity for joy and intimacy in ways that are often unseen but profoundly felt. This class is your starting point to understand these impacts and begin the journey toward healing.
We’ll start by defining trauma, exploring common causes, and identifying how it manifests in both the body and mind. From there, we’ll dive into the nervous system, breaking down survival responses like fight, flight, freeze, and fawn, and learning how they shape your feelings of safety and connection.
This isn’t just about theory—we’ll discuss the practical implications of trauma, including how it can block your ability to experience pleasure, whether sexual, emotional, or even in everyday moments. You’ll learn how trauma can disrupt the joy of being present in your body and relationships, and why reclaiming that joy is an essential part of healing.
Finally, we’ll introduce grounding and self-regulation techniques, simple yet powerful tools you can use immediately to calm your nervous system and build a sense of safety. By the end of this class, you’ll have a solid understanding of how trauma shapes your experiences and a toolkit to begin shifting toward healing and pleasure.
What you’ll gain from this class:
-
A deep understanding of trauma’s effects on your mind, body, and ability to connect.
-
Clarity about why trauma blocks pleasure and connection and how to overcome it.
-
Grounding techniques to regulate your nervous system and feel safer in your daily life.
-
A clear starting point to guide your healing journey.
Note: This is the first class in the “Moving Through Trauma to Achieve Pleasure in Sex, Relationships, and Life” 5-class series. Each class stands alone, but together they create a powerful pathway to healing and growth.
