🌈 Queer Eyes of Compassion Affinity Sangha

This gathering is a monthly meditation practice space for LGBTQIA+- queer, transgender, lesbian, gay, intersex, gender non-conforming and similarly-identified siblings. Our gatherings are typically on the fourth Wednesdays of every month from 6:30-8:00 pm, with optional tea time to follow. We are located at 2180 S University Blvd, Denver, CO 80210 (University Park United Methodist Church). To join our mailing list and learn about our upcoming monthly practice in the next email newsletter, please fill out this form.

As an affinity group of the Eyes of Compassion Sangha, we model our practice after the Plum Village tradition founded by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. We typically follow a similar format to the Eyes of Compassion and Wake Up Sangha’s including a 20 minute sitting meditation, 10 minutes of walking meditation, a short reading, and a practice of group shares called deep listening/deep sharing. We will sometimes veer from this framework to include other types of meditation, small group sharing, or even individual reflection time if we feel it better suits the group. Our goal is that this group is accessible to folks who are new to meditation, this kind of practice, mindfulness, and spiritual groups OR those who have not felt comfortable attending other such gatherings. If you have questions or concerns about what our meditation group looks like or are looking for other meditation groups, please connect with one of our facilitators either by emailing queerEOC@gmail.com or chatting with us at the next gathering.
