2022 proved to be both busy and exciting for The Center’s RANGE Consulting program. The program set goals to broaden its reach to small and midsized organizations seeking to support LGBTQ+ employees and expand RANGE’s service offerings to attract large organizations with existing training and DEI departments.

RANGE achieved those goals and delivered LGBTQ+ inclusivity training and consulting services to nearly 40 clients, reaching over 2100 employees within the business, nonprofit, and government sectors.

A few notable highlights included the implementation of two 3-month Train-the-Trainer (TTT) projects with Colorado Coalition for the Homeless and Wipfli on the topics of “Creating Welcoming Environments for the LGBTQ+ Community” and “Understanding the Impacts of Pronoun Usage.” RANGE also partnered with Colorado Court of Appeals, Centennial Mental Health Center, and 1up Arcade Bar to rollout multisession workshops on the topics of “Microaggressions”, “Creating Welcoming Environments for LGBTQ+ Patients”, and “Strategies for Supporting the LGBTQ+ Community”.

In November, the program hosted its inaugural RANGE Business Luncheon at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. This event brought business and community leaders together to raise awareness and funding for the services provided by RANGE Consulting. At the luncheon, four organizations and individuals who exemplified IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) principles to the community were also recognized. Our honorees included:

  • IDEA Leader in Business: Smartwool
  • IDEA Leader in Nonprofit: Denver Museum of Nature and Science
  • IDEA Leader in Media: OUTFront Media
  • IDEA Leader in the Community: Ryann Peyton

RANGE also launched the RANGE Business Partner Program (RBPP) for 2023 at the luncheon. This new Partner Program offered organizations various levels to choose from, each complete with ways to utilize RANGE’s extensive library of training and consulting services, gain access to exclusive networking and educational events, and recruit for diverse candidates through the PRIDE Job Board and PRIDE Job Fair (with both launching in 2023). In addition, participation in RBPP helped organizations achieve several of HRC’s 2023 Corporate Equality Index criteria.

As RANGE looked forward to 2023, priorities included recruiting organizations to participate in the new RBPP, planning the launch of the PRIDE Job Board, and organizing the PRIDE Job Fair for spring 2023.
