DESCRIPTION:She Called Herself Kate: New Perspectives on Cathay Williams\, A Buffalo Soldier\nJoin us for a historiographic talk on the story of Cathay Williams\, commonly known as the only woman to serve as a Buffalo Soldier. Williams enlisted as "William Cathay" in 1866 and served as a man\, but lived in Colorado as a woman after the military.
