Certified Health Coverage Guide
Connect for Health Colorado is the online health insurance marketplace and support network where individuals, families and small employers can shop for and buy health insurance based on quality and price. Customers will have access to new financial assistance – based on income – to reduce costs, expert help both in person or over the phone and customers can shop for and compare plans before purchasing.
The Open Enrollment period for Connect for Health Colorado ended on January 15, 2019.
Enrollment is only available at this time for special circumstances and limited periods. Learn more about qualifying life events.
Medicare Enrollment Assistance:
The Center on Colfax's Healthcare Enrollment Program now offers SHIP counseling services. In partnership with Benefits in Action, our Healthcare Enrollment Program Manager is a certified SHIP counselor volunteer and is able to help those with Medicare navigate their benefits, make changes, or enroll for the first time.
SHIPs mission is to educate, advocate, counsel and empower people to make informed healthcare benefit decisions.
As of 2019, there is a new Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (OEP) from January 1-March 31 every year. It replaces the Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period that used to take place January 1-February 14 every year.
The Medicare Advantage OEP is somewhat more limited than the fall OEP. During the Medicare Advantage OEP, you generally have a one-time opportunity to (may not be a complete list):
- Change from one Medicare Advantage plan to a different medicare Advantage plan
- Drop your Medicare Advantage plan and return to Original Medicare, Part A and Part B
If you have questions about Medicare enrollment periods and eligibility, please contact our Healthcare Enrollment Program Manager, Ron DeVries, MSHA, at 303-951-5208 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Appointments take place Monday-Thursday at The Center, and at The Center for African-American Health by special arrangement. To schedule an appointment, please go to the Assistance Network (Aunt Bertha) or call 303-951-5208.
