DESCRIPTION:Explore Queer Capitol Hill with David Duffield\, co-founder and coordinator of the Center LGBTQ History Project for Colorado on Colfax.\nExplore Queer Capitol Hill with David Duffield\, co-founder and coordinator of the Center LGBTQ History Project for Colorado on Colfax. The tour will take guests through Bachelor’s Row and look at how single apartments offered privacy for a closeted community. We’ll explore how public spaces were a refuge and places to connect for LGBTQ people. And we will look at how laws such as anti-crossdressing and R-0 zoning kept queer Denver heavily policed and segregated. Finally\, we will look at places of liberation like the first headquarters of the Gay Coalition of Denver\, apartments for Denver Area Mattachine Society\, and the first headquarters for the Gay Community Center of Colorado. From within the spaces of Capitol Hill came the hearts and activism of generations of queer people. A legacy born of streets\, parks\, and private spaces.

DESCRIPTION:Join Outcrop Wilderness— a small outdoor guiding company run by long-time colleagues and friends\, James and Kate—for an immersive 5-day\, 4-night backpacking trek in the Sawatch Range mountains outside Vail. Our trips are run by and made for LGBTQ+ folks. We offer community connection\, outdoor skill-building opportunities\, and supportive group pacing for seasoned pros and beginners alike! If you’re new (or new-ish) to backpacking\, this is a great trip to learn the basics of backpacking in a supportive group setting. If you’re experienced and looking for a challenge\, this is a great trip to practice some off-trail navigation under the tutelage of experienced guides. We offer community connection\, outdoor skill-building opportunities\, and supportive group pacing for seasoned pros and beginners alike. \nThis trip offers the opportunity to kick back and relax in alpenglow evenings by clear mountain waters as we visit a series of high alpine lakes. Our route is designed to be challenging in bursts so that the time we spend relaxing feels that much better. DESCRIPTION:Motus Theater & the Parent Engagement Network (PEN) present What Love Requires\, a new autobiographical monologue project featuring stories of parents of transgender and nonbinary adults. \nIn many ways\, the job of parents is to support our children to blossom into the unique gift they were meant to bring to the world. However\, every parent’s idea of who our children are can be limited by family or societal expectations (You’re supposed to be a doctor like your parents\, not a musician!) \nFor parents of transgender and nonbinary children\, supporting our children has particularly high stakes because of the threats our children currently face simply by living their own true gender\, and experiencing the joy we all have when we can truly be ourselves. \nThe performance shares stories of parents supporting their children to not only survive\, but thrive. The performance also celebrates the ways parents are liberated from limiting perceptions about gender in the process of truly seeing and learning from their children. \nMonologists include Beth Leyba (she/her)\, Lynn Kutner (she/her)\, Cat Lindsey (she/her)\, and Julie (she/her). Featuring music from acclaimed violinist Anthony Salvo (he/him).
