SUMMARY:Virtual: Mapping Yo Squad
DESCRIPTION:Join\, Goddess of Sun Seed Community\, for a nourishing session on how to practice resourcing that directly intervenes in oppressive systems and beliefs. In this 5-part guided meditation and journal time you'll be invited to look at 4-parts of yourself (The Maintenance Keeper\, The Guardian\, and The Lover). We'll then reflect individually on how these major archetypes can help us to understand how we can show up for ourselves\, ask for help from our community\, and resource tools we already have during times of deep grief and transition. A paper workbook will be provided. This session is inspired by the Zine "We Need Emotional Labor" by Jennifer Williams\, the guided meditation "Let Go\, Love\, Forgive" by Lorraine Segal\, and the legacy of creating Emotional Safety Plans by  queer\, trans\, intersex \, disabled and Mad folx. Thank you for the gifts of care you shared with the world.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccessibility \n\n\nAI closed captioning available \n\n\nAt least 2 bio breaks throughout the session \n\n\nVisual stims provided \n\n\nFor safety and Security no one will be permitted into the Zoom room 10 min after the start time. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCommunity Guidelines \n\n\nSSC Space Maintenance Agreement \n\n\nThis session is open to individuals of all cultural\, ethnic\, and racial backgrounds. However\, queer\, trans\, intersex people of color are always centered in the work Goddess creates. If your behavior and/or language belittle\, dehumanize\, or devalue anyone in the space you will be asked to leave and Goddess will check in with you after words.

SUMMARY:Silent Pages Society: The Future is Present\, The Harbinger is Home
DESCRIPTION:Silent Pages Society: The Future Is Present\, The Harbinger is Home\nIntroverts welcome. Conversations optional. Connections possible. \nSilent Pages Society is a quiet literary gathering for those who find meaning in stillness and solitude. There’s no assigned reading\, no discussion circles — just you\, your book\, and the soft hum of others doing the same. \nThis summer\, we gather inside the galleries and on the rooftop deck of MCA Denver\, reading in quiet company against the backdrop of The Future is Present\, The Harbinger is Home—an exhibition that traces questions of place\, memory\, and belonging across shifting landscapes. Drawn from the New Orleans-based triennial Prospect.6\, the works on view invite us to consider what it means to inhabit a place shaped by water\, migration\, and time. \nYou’re welcome to read in the exhibition spaces or take your book to the rooftop café for open air and city views. \nHow It Works:\n– Doors open at 5:30 PM. Come and go as you please.\n– Register in advance to reserve your spot\n– Check in with Denver Public Library staff at the entrance\n– Save your QR code for quick check-in at the event\n– Choose your reading spot — in the galleries or on the rooftop\n– Receive a stamp in your Silent Pages Society passport. Collect five to earn a limited-edition literary prize \nPlease note: These programs regularly fill up. If you’re unable to attend\, please cancel your registration so we can open your spot to someone on the waitlist. \nFree with RSVP. Light food and drinks available for purchase at the MCA Café.\nThis event is for adults. \nPresented in partnership with MCA Denver. This program is part of One Book One Denver\, a citywide shared reading event exploring memory\, place\, and creative connection.

SUMMARY:Summer Rooftop Party featuring The Solution: DJ Low Key and DJ Lazy Eyez
DESCRIPTION:A rooftop DJ party at MCA Denver. This event is 21+.\n\n\nThe perfect summer night doesn’t exist…oh wait\, yes it does. Join us for our 2025 Rooftop Party series on none other than the MCA Denver rooftop. Every night will have you bumpin’ that beat with 360 views and vibes so good you’ll low-key (high-key) never want to go home. \n\n\nAbout the DJs \nThe Solution (DJ Lazy Eyez and DJ Low Key) (Est. 2007) is one of Denver’s longest-running and most respected Hip-Hop parties. Launched by DJ Low Key and the late DJ Sounds Supreme\, it was built on a simple but powerful idea: create the kind of party that true music lovers actually want to go to. Playing all the best in Hip-Hop\, R&B\, Soul\, Dancehall\, Reggae\, and more. \nOver the years\, The Solution has grown into a vibrant community of like-minded music heads\, collaborating with top-tier DJs\, MCs\, and artists from across the country. More than just a party\, it’s dabbled in art shows\, music videos\, pop-ups\, and fashion — always driven by a love for the culture and a commitment to quality. \nDJ Low Key: DJ by choice\, promoter by passion \nFor over 20 years\, DJ Low Key has been proving what’s possible when quality comes first — one mixtape\, one party\, one unforgettable set at a time. \nAs the founder of the award-winning party The Solution\, renowned daytime function Goodness\, mixtape collabs with acclaimed national talent (like TiRon & Ayomari (LA)\, Tanya Morgan (NY) and Blu (LA)) and countless other events across Colorado\, LA\, and beyond\, he’s become known for curating spaces where music lovers feel at home. \nTwo decades deep in the music scene\, DJ Low Key’s nightlife and mixtape work throughout the country hasn’t gone unnoticed\, drawing the attention of countless national brands. You can catch Low Key passionately and creatively working to bring music lovers together for magic moments and unforgettable experiences. \nDJ Lazy Eyez: Music. Culture. Community. \nKnown for his eclectic style and dedication to Hip-Hop culture and community\, DJ Lazy Eyez brings a diverse and inclusive crowd together in the spirit of Hip-Hop but with music that spans across all genres. Through producing events\, he is a believer in providing opportunities for other DJs\, mentoring the next generation\, and fostering Denver’s diverse community in the spirit of music and dance. DJ Lazy Eyez has been twice awarded “Best Hip-Hop DJ in Denver” by local alternative weekly Westword Magazine (2006\, 2013). \nWhether it’s uncovering hidden gems\, creatively reminding people of classic songs\, or discovering new sounds\, DJ Lazy Eyez sounds represents the best of an eclectic style with party rocking skills that are top tier.

SUMMARY:Hope;ink Suicide Awareness Semicolon Tattoo Event
DESCRIPTION:A semicolon tattoo symbolizes hope\, resilience\, and continuation in the face of mental health challenges\, particularly suicide\, depression\, and self-harm. It represents a choice to live and keep going\, similar to the grammatical semicolon that marks a pause in a sentence rather than an end. This tattoo serves as a powerful reminder of one's inner strength and an enduring bond with a supportive community that understands and shares this journey. \nHope;ink serves as a meaningful extension of the broader worldwide initiative\, providing a local platform for individuals to "ink" their story\, unite in solidarity\, and express themselves through the semicolon symbol. For a minimum donation of $60\, attendees can choose from a selection of impactful semicolon tattoos. Donation options are available for those unable to attend or who would like to make this experience possible for another individual. All proceeds from this event will benefit Jefferson Center’s programs and services. Click here to learn more. \nHope;ink began as the Suicide Awareness Semicolon Tattoo Event (SASTE)\, hosted for several years by Dreambent Studios Tattoo in Thornton\, and benefiting various non-profit organizations. In 2023\, Dreambent chose Jefferson Center as the recipient of the proceeds\, and a friendship was born! The event was re-named Hope;ink\, and in 2024 it grew to include multiple locations across the Denver metro area. \nAt Jefferson Center\, we're dedicated to helping individuals share\, heal\, and possibly rewrite their stories through our mission and services. Attendees will have opportunities to engage by sharing their stories\, honoring lost loved ones\, or celebrating their resilience. Additionally\, there will be mental health resources and education opportunities available at every location.
