SUMMARY:Impact Play for Queers with Luna
DESCRIPTION:Impact Play for Queers with Luna is a dynamic\, inclusive class that invites LGBTQIA2S+ folks to explore the art of consensual striking—spanking\, paddling\, flogging\, slapping\, and more—in a queer-centered space. Whether you're a seasoned top\, an eager bottom\, or just kink-curious\, Luna creates a playful\, affirming environment to learn about physical intensity\, body-based communication\, and the erotic possibilities of sensation. This class celebrates queer bodies\, desires\, and relationships\, with an emphasis on creativity\, consent\, and connection. \nYou'll learn the fundamentals of safe and effective impact play\, including how to use different tools\, strike zones to avoid\, how to warm up a body for heavier play\, and the importance of rhythm\, pacing\, and communication. Luna will also delve into negotiation strategies\, consent frameworks\, and how to navigate power exchange through a queer lens—acknowledging the unique dynamics\, traumas\, and joys that come with queer sexuality. Discussions and demos will center queer experiences\, with space for all genders and relationship styles. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring partners\, friends\, or come solo—there will be opportunities for guided practice and observation\, with consent and comfort prioritized at every step. Bring your curiosity\, your questions\, and (if you have them) your favorite toys. Impact Play for Queers with Luna is a celebration of pleasure\, power\, and pride in our bodies and kinks—whether you're soft and swishy or loud and leathery\, there's a place for you here.

SUMMARY:Woven Intersections by Teague McDaniel\, EVENT 1: “Hello olleH” Opening Performance
DESCRIPTION:June 28 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm\n$5 – $15 \n\n\n\n\n\nWe hope you’ll join us for one or more creative activations at Woven Intersections. This exhibition features Ascend\, a site-specific rope\, wood\, and concrete sculptural installation by Teague McDaniel (they/them). Each event in this series is a unique site activation that engages with our ability to feel\, perceive\, or experience things subjectively—especially as it pertains to our geographic location in this moment in time. \nTickets are available on Eventbrite or at the door. Find out about all of our events at Noboartdistrict.org/visit/bus-stop-gallery/ \nEVENT 1:Hello olleH Welcome to our kick-off event for Woven Intersections. This evening of sound and performance art explores leaning into the “now\,” dipping into the past with cassette recorders to imagine the future\, and navigating the surreal and ethereal aspects of existence. Featured artists include Celi Torres\, Erik Wangsvick\, Teague McDaniel\, Bearcat\, and the reveal of a curated pop-up shop featuring local talent. \nOUR SPONSOR: Thank you to MSU Denver for sponsoring this event. If you’d like to help support our production\, please contact: creative.integration.art@gmail.com \nABOUT ERIK: Seeing Radiant Futures (look forward…rewind\, respond) by Erik Wangsvick (he/they) is an interactive sound piece—appearing in multiple iterations over the course of the exhibition—that encourages its audience to think\, to listen\, and to share\, so that we may vivify the radiant futures we are working toward. Allow time and space for hope to cultivate\, become actionable\, and even serve as an act of resistance by sharing the brightness of your imagined futures. \nErik Wangsvick is an interdisciplinary artist\, craftsman\, and musician currently based in Denver\, CO. Taking inspiration from everyday life\, he engages with elements of chance\, experimentation\, and observation to create artworks that uncover magic in the mundane and question the norm. Wangsvick has exhibited and performed sound art widely across the U.S. His discography includes 32 full-length and EP releases. Wangsvick earned an MFA with distinction from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn\, NY (2019)\, and a BFA with a double concentration in Sculpture and Painting\, along with a minor in Art History\, from Colorado State University (2011). \nABOUT CELI: Knots” by Celi Torres\n\nKnots are the fabric of the universe. through touch\, through information. In this improvisational piece Celi considers how knots exist in the body and around it. Torres work explores themes including invisible labor\, repetition\, and codices. \n\nCeli Torres (they/them) explores performance and relational art\, using movement\, conversation\, and the archive as a muse. A long time art administrator and current arts librarian\, Celi’s is a\nnew emerging artist.\n\nABOUT ELLE: In their first collaboration\, artists Elle Hong and Teague McDaniel move in response to one another\, the audience\, and “Ascend”\, a site-specific rope installation. Inspiration for this performance is informed by their shared passion of dance and the performance strategies “space” and “shape” as defined in the “Six Viewpoints” method developed by Mary Overlie.\n\nABOUT TEAGUE: Teague McDaniel (they/he) is an interdisciplinary artist and curator who grew up in and is based in the Denver/Boulder. McDaniel’s current roles include acting as the Founder and Curator at Creative Integration Initiative (CII)\, adjunct professor in the Department of Art at MSU Denver\, and practicing artist. Their art practice is media agnostic and frequently traverses installation\, performance\, social practice\, and printmaking. They hold an MA in Art and BA  in Art.\n\nTICKETS: Tickets are based on a sliding scale to honor each of our own financial experiences. Check out the Green Bottle graphic below to see what level of support feels right for you.\n\nGeneral Admission = $15\nDiscounted = $10\nScholarship = $5\nChildren 15 and under = Free\n\nACCESS DESCRIPTION: Bus Stop Gallery is located in North Boulder. A carefully curated playlist—crafted by local queer dancers who live for the dance floor—will move us through joy\, connection\, and release. Whether you move big or small\, solo or together\, you’re welcome. \nIn addition to dancing\, you’ll find space for play and delight: the human laughing worm (aka the haha game)\, jump ropes\, bubbles\, sticker collaging\, and other hands-on activities for all the adult kids out there. Come dance. Come be. Come alive. \nCost: Sliding scale at the door ($10 suggested cover)\nNote: This is a substance-free event. \nABOUT the ARTIST/CURATOR:\nTeague McDaniel (they/he) is an interdisciplinary artist and curator who grew up in and is based in the Denver/Boulder area.
