SUMMARY:PFLAG SOFFA Support Group
DESCRIPTION:It's often said that when a loved one transitions\, everyone around them transitions too. PFLAG Denver's SOFFA group acknowledges that sometimes those closest to a transgender\, nonbinary\, or gender nonconforming person may need assistance to better provide support. Regardless of where you are on your allyship journey\, our peer-led groups provide brave space for you to adapt and develop expanded capacities of empathy and understanding. Through each other's stories\, we gain perspective\, we hold accountability\, and we celebrate joys. We learn coping strategies that can foster personal growth and resilience so that we may better support our loved ones. The collective insights and shared strength found in SOFFA can help individuals navigate their difficulties with increased emotional support and a sense of community\, ultimately contributing to their overall well-being and healing journey. \nMonthly registration is strongly encouraged to help us maintain up-to-date utilization records and reach you if there is a last-minute change for the support group.\nYou can register HERE.

SUMMARY:The Pride Shelter Initiative Donation Collection: Parker\, CO
DESCRIPTION:The Pride Shelter Initiative is a Girl Scout Gold Award project in partnership with The Center on Colfax\, collecting donations to support homeless transgender individuals through care bags and community resources. This effort provides essential items that promote hygiene\, comfort\, and dignity while connecting people to affirming healthcare\, shelter\, and support services. By addressing the unique challenges and discrimination faced by transgender individuals experiencing housing insecurity\, this project aims to foster inclusivity\, compassion\, and understanding within our community. Through outreach and collaboration\, we hope to inspire others to contribute to inclusive resources and safe spaces for all. \nDonations of practical items make a real difference. We’re seeking new: backpacks\, hygiene supplies/toiletries\, and clothing such as socks and undergarments. Gender-affirming items like makeup\, hair care products for all textures\, and new binders or sports bras help ensure every recipient feels seen and respected. Small denomination gift cards to grocery stores are also greatly appreciated. \nPlease note: we can only accept new items for this initiative. Used items cannot be accepted at this time. \nYou can provide donations at any time directly to The Center on Colfax\, during their open business hours\, indicating they are for The Pride Shelter Initiative \n\n1301 E. Colfax Ave.\, Denver\, CO 80218\n\nDonations are also being accepted: \n\nGrandview High School on December 19th from 8:30am until 3:30pm\n20500 E Arapahoe Rd\, Aurora\, CO 80016; Lower Dean's Office\nThe Girl Scout Dream Lab on January 17th from 10am until 7:30pm\n63 N Quebec St\, Denver\, CO 80224\nBeauty Tribe Salons on February 16th from 9am until 7pm\n19600 E Parker Square Dr\, Suite 110\, Parker\, CO 80134\n\nEvery single contribution\, no matter the size\, helps provide care\, dignity\, and hope.

SUMMARY:Fruity Film Society: Free Queer Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Fruity Film Society is a queer film club meeting in Denver. Its purpose is to bring together members of the local queer community as we engage with our art\, culture\, and history. Sie FilmCenter has generously allowed us to use the Henderson-Withey Lounge in their lobby to host our screenings. Meetings are free to attend\, and you do *not* need to be a Denver Film Member. We meet once a month\, and each screening is kept a mystery (with some clues thrown in\, of course). All films shown feature queer narratives\, queer creators\, and/or cultural importance within the queer community. We’re interested in films big and small\, from all over the world. You’ll see some queer classics\, as well as some hidden gems.\n\nPlease come join us for our next meeting on 2/16/26! There is a discussion segment at the end of every screening so we can all get to know each other and share in our appreciation for film. Out of respect for Sie\, please don’t bring any outside food or beverages with you aside from water. They’ve got concessions and a full bar if you need anything. Hope to see you there!
