SUMMARY:Arkham A$$ylum: An [After Dark] Knight Burlesque
DESCRIPTION:ARKHAM A$$YLUM — Two Nights Only at Ballyhoo Table & Stage (Oct 24–25) \nTagline: Villains get the mic. Justice gets messy—in a queer live cabaret where Gotham’s greatest villains flips the script. \nDENVER\, CO — After a sold-out\, Best Of selection at Denver Fringe\, ARKHAM A$$YLUM breaks the locks again for a two-night encore October 24–25 at Ballyhoo Table & Stage in the Highlands. Written by University of Colorado film professor and Rainbow Cult founder Professor Andy Might\, this high-energy\, queer-forward spectacle mashes comic-book chaos with cabaret bite—drag\, burlesque\, and projection design—this burlesque strips the powers-that-be down to their skivvies. \nEvent details \n\nDates: Friday–Saturday\, October 24–25\, 2025\nVenue: Ballyhoo Table & Stage (3300 Tejon St.\, Denver\, CO)\nAccolade: Best Ensemble — Denver Fringe Fest 2025\nCostume Contest: Prizes for Best Hero/Villain\nCreator/Writer: Professor Andy Might (Rainbow Cult)\nDirector: Richi Ramos (House of Ishan)\nTickets: https://www.ballyhoodenver.com/shows-events\n\nWhat to expect\nA satirical\, participatory cabaret where the villains take the stand and the superhero-industrial complex gets roasted. Live vocals\, precision lip-syncs\, burlesque spectacle\, in a brisk\, neon-lit rollercoaster through Gotham’s rogues gallery. Burlesque as testimony. Drag as dissent. Expect sharp jokes and crowd-pleasing\, slightly unhinged fun.

SUMMARY:Reapproaching Media & Migration with Motus Theater’s ImmigrantAmerica Project & Guest Leaders in Colorado Media
DESCRIPTION:I’m not part of some invading army fighting against America\, but\, like many of you\, I’m fighting for the American ideals I think we can live up to.\n- Cristian Solano-Córdova\, Motus Monologist with DACA \nJoin Motus Theater’s ImmigrantAmerica for an evening of autobiographical monologues from Colorado DACA recipients\, co-read by the monologists and leaders in Colorado media\, with musical guests. After the performance\, there will be a moderated discussion between Motus leaders\, guest readers in the media\, and the audience on the use and misuse of immigration narratives in the media. \nMotus Theater’s ImmigrantAmerica monologues invite listeners to experience the powerful and moving personal stories of undocumented people caught in the crosshairs of U.S. immigration policy\, and to practice courageous empathy and civic hospitality by listening to and getting to know our undocumented neighbors. Motus’ ImmigrantAmerica project has been described as\, “The gold standard for narratives on immigration.”

SUMMARY:How Therapists Can Provide Queer-Affirming Mental Health!
DESCRIPTION:Denver Family Institute would like to invite youth-serving professionals to our upcoming virtual "Lunch and Learn" on October 22nd or December 3rd to discuss an emerging therapeutic model\, the "Queer Adjusted Systemic Lens!" \nThe model will be presented by its creator\, August Tousignant-Stanton\, LCSW\, LMFT (they/them). August is a member of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (AAMFT's) group of queer therapists\, QTAN (the Queer and Trans Advocacy Network). As part of QTAN\, August composed the chapter on working with queer children for AAMFT's new guidebook\, "GENDER-AFFIRMING CARE: Guidelines for Working Systemically with Transgender\, Nonbinary\, and Gender Expansive Clients." (Available for free here.) August will be presenting their model at AAMFT's Systemic Family Therapy conference in late October 2025. \nAugust's new model\, the "Queer Adjusted Systemic Lens\," is focused on giving professionals who work with queer youth & their families a new approach to their work; one that affirms the identity of clients\, acknowledges the real risks (and the very real benefits) of queer thriving\, and how to maneuver relationships and systems beyond "neutrality." There will be a Q&A following the presentation.\nIf you have any questions\, please contact Miguel Valdez\, DFI Program Manager\, at miguelvaldez@denverfamilyinstitute.org. We look forward to seeing you at the "Lunch and Learn!"
