They are currently working towards their master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University. DESCRIPTION:Starting Wednesday\, September 18\, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM MST\, this 10-week virtual group offers a safe\, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. Participants will connect with others who understand the unique layers of LGBTQIA+ grief\, from disenfranchisement and invisibility to the strength of chosen family.  The dates for this will be September 18\, 25\, October 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, November 6\, 13\, & 20 \nThe group is facilitated by Steven Karaiskos\, Ph.D.\, a suicide loss survivor who lost his partner\, David\, to suicide in 2009. That loss shaped his career as an educator\, grief expert\, and community builder.
