DESCRIPTION:Starting Wednesday\, September 18\, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM MST\, this 10-week virtual group offers a safe\, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. Participants will connect with others who understand the unique layers of LGBTQIA+ grief\, from disenfranchisement and invisibility to the strength of chosen family.  The dates for this will be September 18\, 25\, October 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, November 6\, 13\, & 20 \nThe group is facilitated by Steven Karaiskos\, Ph.D.\, a suicide loss survivor who lost his partner\, David\, to suicide in 2009. That loss shaped his career as an educator\, grief expert\, and community builder. They are currently working towards their master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University. In the past decade\, they have worked with neurodivergent children\, disabled adults\, and at-risk children\, youth\, and families in multiple settings including private schools\, in-home\, as a caseworker for the Department of Social Services\, and a case manager with Developmental Pathways. \nThese presentations are open to the public\, and we are excited to have you join us! DESCRIPTION:The City and County of Denver offers Outreach Court to help people experiencing housing instability gain better access to Denver County Court resources and avoid deeper involvement with the justice system. Outreach Court is designed to increase stabilization and reduce future interactions with the justice system for individuals experiencing housing instability or receiving homeless or transitional services. Outreach Court helps individuals resolve municipal level citations or warrants and provides direct\, immediate access to supportive services and resources which can include but are not limited to substance use and mental health services\, public transportation\, vital documents\, as well as providing peer support services. Immediate community service options are also available to complete court requirements. DESCRIPTION:This in-person group is a welcoming and affirming space designed for individuals navigating life alongside a partner\, spouse\, significant other\, or co-parent who identifies as trans\, nonbinary\, gender nonconforming\, or recently out as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. \n\n\nWe recognize the unique journey of supporting a loved one while honoring your own emotions and experiences. Whether you're celebrating their authenticity\, navigating changes in your relationship\, or seeking to better understand their identity\, this group provides a compassionate community where you can share\, learn\, and grow. \nTogether\, we will explore topics such as communication\, relationship dynamics\, self-care\, and allyship\, all while centering the diverse lived experiences of our participants. Facilitated by trained leaders\, this group offers a space to ask questions\, process feelings\, and connect with others who understand the joys and challenges of walking this path. \nCome as you are\, and join us in fostering understanding\, resilience\, and meaningful connections. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMonthly registration is strongly encouraged to help us maintain up-to-date utilization records and reach you if there is a last-minute change for the support group.\nYou can register HERE.

SUMMARY:LGBTQIA+ Peer Support Group for Suicide Loss
DESCRIPTION:Starting Wednesday\, September 18\, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM MST\, this 10-week virtual group offers a safe\, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. Participants will connect with others who understand the unique layers of LGBTQIA+ grief\, from disenfranchisement and invisibility to the strength of chosen family.  The dates for this will be September 18\, 25\, October 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, November 6\, 13\, & 20 \nThe group is facilitated by Steven Karaiskos\, Ph.D.\, a suicide loss survivor who lost his partner\, David\, to suicide in 2009. That loss shaped his career as an educator\, grief expert\, and community builder. Steven is the former Senior Director of Education with Samaritans\, Inc.\, has over six years of experience leading peer support groups through Coping After Suicide\, and currently serves as Director of Programming for The Kita Center\, home to Camp Kita and expanded retreats for communities impacted by suicide loss.  Contact Steven for more info at stevenjkaraiskos@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:Join us the fourth Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8pm for a Queer meditation practice in the Thich Nhat Hanh Plum Village mindfulness lineage.
