DESCRIPTION:The City and County of Denver offers Outreach Court to help people experiencing housing instability gain better access to Denver County Court resources and avoid deeper involvement with the justice system. Outreach Court is designed to increase stabilization and reduce future interactions with the justice system for individuals experiencing housing instability or receiving homeless or transitional services. Outreach Court helps individuals resolve municipal level citations or warrants and provides direct\, immediate access to supportive services and resources which can include but are not limited to substance use and mental health services\, public transportation\, vital documents\, as well as providing peer support services. Immediate community service options are also available to complete court requirements. SUMMARY:LGBTQIA+ Peer Support Group for Suicide Loss
DESCRIPTION:Starting Wednesday\, September 18\, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM MST\, this 10-week virtual group offers a safe\, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. Participants will connect with others who understand the unique layers of LGBTQIA+ grief\, from disenfranchisement and invisibility to the strength of chosen family.  The dates for this will be September 18\, 25\, October 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, November 6\, 13\, & 20 \nThe group is facilitated by Steven Karaiskos\, Ph.D.\, a suicide loss survivor who lost his partner\, David\, to suicide in 2009. That loss shaped his career as an educator\, grief expert\, and community builder. Steven is the former Senior Director of Education with Samaritans\, Inc.\, has over six years of experience leading peer support groups through Coping After Suicide\, and currently serves as Director of Programming for The Kita Center\, home to Camp Kita and expanded retreats for communities impacted by suicide loss.  Contact Steven for more info at stevenjkaraiskos@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Sanctuary: An Autumn Equinox Gathering for Healing
DESCRIPTION:A group of queer and trans veterans from About Face: Veterans Against the War (an organization of post-9/11 veterans who advocate against militarism at home and abroad) have formed the Trans Military Support Network to advocate for and defend Trans members of the military community. They hold virtual gatherings to provide space to process grief/fear/anger while cultivating hope and community. \nThe next Sanctuary gathering will be held right after the autumnal equinox (September 23 at 8 pm ET)\, and this one will have a witchy vibe. A member of the Trans Military Support Network will open with a grounding spell and then lead a short session on herbs and self-care. After that\, another member will facilitate a session on reciprocity in nature and how it can provide a framework for how we approach mutual aid and community care. We’ll then break into small groups to reflect on our relationship with nature. DESCRIPTION:Starting Wednesday\, September 18\, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM MST\, this 10-week virtual group offers a safe\, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. Participants will connect with others who understand the unique layers of LGBTQIA+ grief\, from disenfranchisement and invisibility to the strength of chosen family.  The dates for this will be September 18\, 25\, October 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, November 6\, 13\, & 20 \nThe group is facilitated by Steven Karaiskos\, Ph.D.\, a suicide loss survivor who lost his partner\, David\, to suicide in 2009. That loss shaped his career as an educator\, grief expert\, and community builder. Steven is the former Senior Director of Education with Samaritans\, Inc.\, has over six years of experience leading peer support groups through Coping After Suicide\, and currently serves as Director of Programming for The Kita Center\, home to Camp Kita and expanded retreats for communities impacted by suicide loss.  Contact Steven for more info at stevenjkaraiskos@gmail.com
