DESCRIPTION:You're invited to be a part of a research study on how queer and trans people experience climate change impacts and respond\, such as through care practices. The study involves writing a weekly journal response and an optional focus group and/or interview. You'll be compensated ($20/hr) for your time. SUMMARY:Queer Backpacking Trip: Sawatch Range #2
DESCRIPTION:Join Outcrop Wilderness— a small outdoor guiding company run by long-time colleagues and friends\, James and Kate—for an immersive 5-day\, 4-night backpacking trek in the Sawatch Range mountains outside Vail. Our trips are run by and made for LGBTQ+ folks. We offer community connection\, outdoor skill-building opportunities\, and supportive group pacing for seasoned pros and beginners alike! If you’re new (or new-ish) to backpacking\, this is a great trip to learn the basics of backpacking in a supportive group setting. If you’re experienced and looking for a challenge\, this is a great trip to practice some off-trail navigation under the tutelage of experienced guides. We’ll take care of all the logistics and food—all you have to do is show up and have a good time! Trip cost is available on a sliding scale basis—visit our website to learn more and sign up!

DESCRIPTION:Join Denver Family Institute for a free workshop to build skills to affirm and support queer youth in your life! \nNavigating a world that isn't always kind to queer youth is a significant challenge for young people\, and we recognize that it can be equally trying for the caregivers who love and support them. Q is for Questioning is here to support you. \nQ is for Questioning is a workshop designed to help trusted adults create more affirming environments for and relationships with the LGBTQ+ youth they care about. Workshops are facilitated by a licensed mental health professional and peer with LGBTQ+ lived experience. If you're not sure yet how to feel about the LGBTQ+ community or the identities of youth in your life\, we welcome you. \nAttendees can expect to: \n-Discuss terminology and concepts relevant to the LGBTQ+ community\n-Discover strategies\, skills\, and approaches to be an affirming adult\n-Explore the role and importance of support in LGBTQ+ youths' lives\n-Gain a community of other trusted adults and resources to utilize past the workshop \nThe workshop will be interactive\, so come prepared to have conversations\, ask questions\, and build community with other folks who are trying to create more affirming and accepting spaces for LGBTQ+ youth. \nThis workshop will include coffee and food from Prodigy Coffeehouse - at no cost to participants! \nQuestions?
