About the Speakers

Sal Skog Bruggeman

Through a series entitled "Transgender Voices: Stories of Strength and Love," award-winning photojournalist Sal Skog will share stories in words and pictures to celebrate the extraordinary lives of transgender people. Sal has interviewed and photographed more than 100 people who are trans, and their engaging and deeply moving personal stories illuminate not only what it means to be transgender, but what it means to be human.

As a trans artivist, Cammy Rahore, known for her award-winning and nationally touring abstract photography, harnesses the power of visual art as a catalyst for social change. Her as yet unreleased body of work is a visual virus of love and understanding for trans humans.

She will offer a sneak preview of the work, share stories of how the virus is already spreading, and reveal her ultimate realization, which came while speaking with a struggling trans teen in Ann Arbor, that being trans is a superpower.
