Description: Join Doug Langworthy (DCPA Director of New Play Development) for a fun and engaging discussion about this new play. Guests will engage in dialogue about obscenity and decency and why many European productions of this provocative Yiddish story were highly successful in the early 1900s – even with a same-sex romance at its center. But when its Broadway debut was deemed “indecent” in 1923, it begged the question of who gets to decide what is considered art and what deserves to be censored. with a deeper appreciation for the art and experiences we often take for granted.
RSVP by Monday, Sept 9 with Reynaldo at 303-951-5222. Space is limited.
