After 33 consecutive years of presenting a three-day live event, the 2020 Colorado Black Arts Festival is going virtual. The organization is looking forward to presenting a “spectacular virtual event” over three days, Friday to Sunday, August 7 to 9 at 7 p.m. each day. The event will feature many of the flagship performances and attractions seen at the live event, and some surprises.
Organizers reached out to some of the best African Diaspora performers that Colorado has to offer to present jazz, blues, R&B, gospel, dance, theater, and more.
They have selected some of Colorado’s prominent visual artist to showcase their work during the virtual event and also made sure to include attractions to engage the kids.
Viewers will be able to watch the event over the organization’s YouTube channel that can be accessed at colbaf.org.
“We worked hard to create an event for the Colorado community to connect and celebrate African Diaspora arts and culture during this time of social isolation”, says Florence Ayers, executive director of the Festival.
Viewers will be able to make a donation on the organization’s website to help continue the organization’s mission to support performers, visual artists, and programming for all ages in Colorado.
